The Nordea Denmark Foundation was established in 1989 by Sparekassen SDS A/S, which later merged with Andelsbanken A/S and Privatbanken A/S to form Unibank A/S, which again later entered into the Nordea AB Concern, now Nordea Bank AB.
The Nordea Denmark Foundation is a commercial foundation, the object of which is to support non-profit and charitable purposes. The foundation is to date the second largest shareholder in Nordea Bank AB
